Job Title: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Job Summary:

The Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive psychiatric-mental health care to patients in a primary care setting. This role requires collaboration with a psychiatrist to care for individuals and their families throughout their lifespan, promoting mental health and education.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnose mental health conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and other therapies as necessary.
  • Order and interpret lab and other diagnostic tests.
  • Make referrals when necessary.
  • Work closely with the psychiatrist to provide appropriate psychiatric care.
  • Utilize highly developed clinical and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Implement treatment plans effectively.
  • Encourage patients to assume responsibility for their own health.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and behavioral health providers.
  • Make referrals and order tests efficiently and appropriately.
  • Perform case management and coordination of care to ensure continuity.

Requirements:
  • Current unrestricted Ohio license to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse.
  • DEA registration.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate clinical privileges/credentialing.
