About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a key member of our Department of Population Health, you will play a critical role in advancing our mission to improve healthcare and wellbeing of vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead research projects and activities, exercising creativity, foresight, and mature judgment to drive outstanding results.
  • Supervise a team of data analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
  • Conduct advanced analyses with large administrative data, identifying trends and insights to inform healthcare policy and practice.
  • Collaborate with community-based organizations, healthcare providers, and government representatives to develop and conduct research.
  • Develop and submit study proposals to funders, ensuring successful grant acquisition and project implementation.
  • Contribute to scientific papers and reports, serving as a resource and author/co-author as needed.
  • Initiate, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate research assignments critical to our mission.
  • Develop and maintain a system for managing a multi-grant portfolio, ensuring successful integration between projects.
  • Formulate and conduct research on problems of considerable scope and complexity, exploring subject areas and defining scope and selection of problems for investigation.
Requirements
  • PhD in health services research, public health, health policy, epidemiology, economics, psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in research, data management, and statistical analyses.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience supervising others.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a team.
  • Experience working with key secondary data sources.
  • Skilled in large-scale data manipulation.
  • Highly proficient using SAS, STATA, R, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience developing data protection protocols and statistical analysis plans.
