About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join our expanding laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advancing our research in genomics and proteomics, with a focus on developing new treatments for inflammatory skin disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, execute, and interpret complex molecular and cellular assays to advance our research goals.
  • Develop and implement new laboratory protocols to characterize skin and blood samples, ensuring timely completion of research projects.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize scientific experiments, including assay and reagent validation, and maintain accurate documentation of procedures and protocols.
  • Supervise and train junior staff and research fellows to implement new technologies and techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Contribute to the development of new treatments for inflammatory skin disorders through the analysis of genomics and proteomics data.
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant field, plus three years of postdoctoral or industrial hands-on lab work experience in genomics, proteomics, or a related field.
  • Documented experience in notable authorship in peer-reviewed publications or equivalent industrial exposure.
  • Strong expertise in platforms such as 10X Chromium, Vizgen-MERSCOPE, or 10X Visium/Xenium, or Nanostring GeoMx.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • A minimum 2-year commitment to the role.
