Workers Compensation Claims Management Director

About the Role
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing strategy for all indemnity and medical only cases, ensuring timely closure of these claims. Your primary focus will be on aggressively managing and closing claims efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Data Integrity and Claim Review: Actively review new claims for data integrity, fraud indicators, safety issues, potential lost time or other concerns that require further action or management.
- Surveillance and Litigation Requests: Recommend approval for surveillance and litigation requests to ensure effective claim resolution.
- Quarterly Claim Reviews: Select files for quarterly claim reviews with the third-party claim administrator to maintain high-quality claim management.
- Injured Employee Support: Interact with injured employees to ensure awareness and understanding of the workers' compensation process and requirements.
- Reserving Practices and Adjuster Effectiveness: Monitor and review Third Party Administrator's reserving practices and recommend changes when necessary. Also, monitor individual claim adjusters' and defense counsels' effectiveness and quality of work.
- Culture and Training: Consistently educate and reinforce claim procedures with operations and Human Resources teams, emphasizing claim reporting processes, late reporting, return to work, safety issues, etc.
- WC Loss Runs and Reports Analysis: Review and analyze WC loss runs and reports; communicate trends and prevention opportunities to improve claim outcomes.
- Process Development and Documentation: Develop, document, and maintain Workers Compensation processes and procedures.
- Documentation Distribution and Return to Work: Coordinate distribution of Workers Compensation documentation and postings for all locations, while also facilitating return to work for employees with Transitional Return to Work (TRW) releases.
- Special Projects: Perform special WC projects as required to support business objectives.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience. Additionally, you should have at least 3-5 years of Workers Compensation claims management experience, thorough knowledge of workers' compensation systems, willingness to learn new jurisdictions, and some knowledge of leave of absence and Human Resource principles, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
