ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Senior Environmental Program Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting the Trade Team's efforts to enhance trade relations and investment flows between the U.S. and African countries. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at promoting sustainable economic development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement strategies to boost trade between the U.S. and Africa.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and trade partners to facilitate collaboration.
  • Produce high-quality technical documents, reports, and communication materials.
  • Coordinate logistics for significant meetings and conferences.
  • Maintain and manage databases related to trade relationships.
  • Monitor ongoing trade programs and provide updates and briefings.
  • Collaborate with existing programs to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
  • Serve as a key advisor in meetings and working groups.
  • Assist in the development of timelines and action plans for strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

NOTE:
The incumbent will focus on advisory and facilitative roles, ensuring that all actions align with the organization's strategic goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or a master's degree with at least five years of relevant experience is required. Candidates should possess experience working with U.S.-Africa trade partners and demonstrate strong communication skills.

Knowledge of private sector development and international trade is essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. U.S. Citizenship and the capability to obtain a Secret security clearance are mandatory.


DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft applications.
  • Strong communication skills in the global investment landscape.
