Job SummaryAthletic Trainers are staffed at each of our four high schools: La Costa Canyon, San Dieguito Academy, Torrey Pines, and Canyon Crest Academy. Permanent Athletic Trainers work a Monday-Friday schedule. However, there are Saturday sports events that require coverage, and substitutes may be used Monday-Friday to cover absences.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Athletic Trainer provides assistance to student athletes in the prevention, evaluation, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries under the supervision of the Assistant Principal and guidance from the Athletic Director. The posted work schedule is the anticipated base schedule, but work hours will vary depending on athletic events. Weekend work may be necessary, and weekly work schedules will be developed as soon as possible after team practice and event schedules are finalized.
Requirements and Qualifications- A valid National Athletic Trainers Association certification is required.
- CPR and First Aid certification are also required.
- One year of experience providing first aid, preventative, and rehabilitative treatment to athletes is required.
Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam, including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance.
