Job Title: Linux Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join our team at Bowhead. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of our Linux-based systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical support and problem-solving for system operations, including automation and scripting.
  • Implement and manage public key infrastructure (PKI) and digital certificates.
  • Ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and configuration-managed environments.
  • Analyze and design system software modifications to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Plan and implement new hardware acquisitions and collaborate with vendors.
  • Support application installation, license management, and software tracking.
  • Manage users and groups, including authentication and authorization.
  • Configure and maintain system security, including firewalls and SELinux.
  • Deploy and configure systems, including software installation and core services.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-6 years of experience in Linux system administration, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP protocol suite and IP configuration.
  • Experience with security guidelines and policies, including DISA STIGs and tools.
  • Knowledge of Tenable suite of products and Red Hat Satellite is a plus.
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAWF criteria or IAT Level II certification at time of hire.
  • Experience with corporate services, including DNS, SMTP, Splunk, and automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of single sign-on solutions and virtualization platform management systems is a plus.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
Security Clearance Requirements:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is required for this contract.
