Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Production Assembler is responsible for constructing and assembling various components and associated hardware, utilizing expertise in assembly methodologies, and employing precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machinery, and equipment. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, work orders, and related documentation to ascertain the method and sequence of operations, as well as dimensional and finishing specifications. The assembler will also be accountable for maintaining precise inventory records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and calibrate production components.
  • Interpret assembly schematics and specifications to meet requirements.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including travelers, pull sheets, and shipping forms.
  • Lift materials (minimum of 30 lbs) and test equipment as needed.
  • Mix various ingredients, primers, adhesives, and sealants according to established guidelines.
  • Utilize templates and hand tools to trim, drill, ream, grind, sand, and finish parts as required.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications and requirements, including shipping details.
  • Achieve quality, on-time delivery, and cost targets set by customers and NMG Aerospace.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with E10 transactions and job-related dashboards, including part and job tracking.
  • Assemble multiple products within a designated area or across various lines as demonstrated by the training matrix.
  • Serve as a resource and provide guidance for junior assemblers.
  • Inspect all final products to confirm adherence to customer requirements, including shipping details.
  • Assist the team in evaluating trends related to labor standards, costs, and process enhancements.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Undertake other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as assigned.
  • Stay current with and complete all required training as mandated.
  • Adhere to the Company Corporate EHS Policy and specific safety protocols relevant to the department and tasks, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of production experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably within a regulated industry.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively plan tasks.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Goal-oriented, both as part of a team and individually.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Must pass any pre-employment screening required by the Company.
  • Must undergo medical examinations as required by law, in relation to job-specific activities and ongoing health assessments.
  • May be required to perform tasks that involve prolonged standing or sitting, and the use of various tools and supplies.
  • May need to lift materials, not exceeding 40 lbs by one individual.

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED.
