Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist at Abrazo West Campus, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients, working on complex cases and training and mentoring staff. Your expertise will include diagnostic testing, treadmill testing, complete pulmonary function tests, ABG machine maintenance, hemodynamics, special procedures, and ENGs.

You will perform procedures in various specialty areas, including ICU, PACU, and newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient care. Your ability to precept students and orientees will be valuable assets to our team.

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist with a strong understanding of asepsis and infection control practices, including isolation. Your knowledge of volume ventilators and patient hemodynamics is essential. Excellent customer service skills and computer skills are preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians
  • Work on complex cases
  • Train and mentor staff
  • Perform diagnostic testing, treadmill testing, complete pulmonary function tests, ABG machine maintenance, hemodynamics, special procedures, and ENGs
  • Perform procedures in various specialty areas
  • Assess and treat newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Precept students and orientees

Requirements:

  • Completion of a formal two-year respiratory education program
  • Registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
  • Two years of experience in respiratory care
  • Acute care and ICU experience preferred
  • Ability to precept and train staff, students, and orientees
  • Able to actively take a leadership role to meet the department's needs

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist in the State of Arizona
  • CPR certification
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within 12 months of employment
