Job Title: Renal Pathology Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Renal Pathology Technologist to join our team in the Renal Pathology Laboratory. The successful candidate will provide electron microscopy, immunofluorescence, and histological services for pathology specimens received at the Division of Renal Pathology, Department of Pathology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine technical functions related to specimen grossing, triaging, processing, embedding, cutting, and staining.
  • Maintain technical competency and perform quality control and quality assurance procedures and processes in accordance with established laboratory policy.
  • Assist with maintenance of IF frozen tissue bank and database for IF specimens.
  • Assist with laboratory equipment maintenance and laboratory inspection preparedness.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with renal client customer service, including renal biopsy kit preparation.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate communications with Renal Pathology faculty, fellows, residents, staff, and interdepartmental colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution required to meet CLIA standards for high complexity testing.
  • Working knowledge of the principles, operations, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and procedures required.
  • Lab experience desired.
  • Computer literacy required with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel software programs desired.
  • ASCP certification in Medical Technologist, Medical Lab Scientist, or HistoTechnologist required within one year of hire.
