Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:
DHR Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse - PRN to join our team. As a Registered Nurse - PRN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform family-centered evidence-based nursing care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Implement physician's orders in a safe and accurate manner.
- Assist with admitting, discharging, and transferring patients.
- Transcribe and implement new physician orders.
- Adapt to the needs of the unit by demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of nursing actions.
- Participate in health/therapeutic counseling, teaching/emotional support for patients and significant others.
- Makes rounds on assigned patients and prioritizes patient needs.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and coworkers.
- Provides and receives reports in a status of patients at the change of shifts.
- Administers medication and therapies within the scope of safe nursing practice.
- Formulates, modifies, and implements goal-oriented patient care plans according to facility policies.
- Assumes responsibility to report clinical limitations or the need for assistance to the supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required (BSN preferred)
- Current registered nurse's license in the State of Texas required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire
- Job requires cross-training to like areas
- Willingness to be trained for charge nurse
- Willingness to become a preceptor after two years of nursing experience
- Hospital experience preferred
- Proficiency in English - verbal and written and computer skills required
- Spanish proficiency preferred
Working Conditions:
This position requires flexibility in schedule to meet unit needs and weekend/holiday requirements. The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned unit.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service to all DHR customers. All employees are required to attend the DHR C.A.R.E. program which outlines the Customer Service Principles including Commitment, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Service.
