Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Raleigh, USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting commissioning activities in our Power Grids department.

About the Position:

This is a full-time position that requires travel up to 70% of the time. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for guiding teams through testing and commissioning of Substation and FACTS equipment, managing work execution, coordinating equipment deliveries, and ensuring environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) responsibilities for contractor personnel.

You will also develop commissioning budgets, schedules, inspection & test plans, energization plans, and other project budgets while living Hitachi's core values of safety and integrity.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience managing and executing testing & commissioning of HV Substations and power quality substations. They must also have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

In addition, they should have a high level of knowledge in relaying concepts, electrical protection & control systems, substation automation systems, and SCADA/RTU systems. They should be able to read and understand protection/electrical drawings and technical documents, and disseminate this information to project teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support commissioning activities in the Power Grids department.
  • Guide teams through testing and commissioning of Substation and FACTS equipment.
  • Manage work execution, coordinate equipment deliveries, and ensure EH&S responsibilities for contractor personnel.
  • Develop commissioning budgets, schedules, inspection & test plans, energization plans, and other project budgets.
Requirements:
  • Minimum five years of experience managing and executing testing & commissioning of HV Substations and power quality substations.
  • Work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

Benefits:

Hitachi Energy offers a competitive salary range between $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as benefits such as medical insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
