Job Summary

The BronxCare Health System is seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Department Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Orthopedic department, you will be responsible for managing and assisting in various areas, including inpatient surgery, major joint replacement and spine, peri-operative care, surgical preparation, and outpatient evaluations.

Responsibilities

Perform initial Orthopaedics evaluations in the clinic and produce comprehensive clinic notes for review by the Attending.
Round daily in the AM on all major case patients and write notes for Attending review.
Manage the Orthopaedic department component of discharge planning.
Review all laboratories and imaging tests done as inpatient and outpatient as per departmental policy for the Major Case Service.
Prepare all pre-surgical packets and chart reviews for upcoming surgery.
Assist in surgery for the Orthopaedic Department.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.
Master's Degree Preferred.
NYS Physician Assistant License.

Prior experience in either an outpatient Orthopedic setting or inpatient service, verified by a previous employer.
