Role Summary:
Thar Energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in equipment featuring dynamic components such as pumps and turbines, as well as compact heat exchangers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, analyze, and evaluate mechanical systems including pumps, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
- Ensure accurate definition and implementation of mechanical components such as bearings and seals in designs.
- Create 3D models and 2D shop drawings for equipment assembly and components, ensuring manufacturability with current fabrication technologies.
- Conduct GD&T and tolerance stack-ups to guarantee proper assembly and functionality of equipment parts.
- Perform finite element analysis to validate designs.
- Collaborate with vendors and project partners to achieve project goals.
- Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively both independently and in collaborative environments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years or a master's degree with at least 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D solid modeling software such as SolidWorks or equivalent.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) techniques.
- Familiarity with fabrication methods and design for manufacturability principles.
- Ability to develop and produce comprehensive project and component documentation, including equipment drawings, process flow diagrams, bills of materials, project timelines, and manuals.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with ANSYS Workbench software.
- Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Familiarity with pressure vessel codes.
- Experience in new product development and project management.
- Proficiency in GD&T and high-precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- A self-motivated individual who thrives in a small company environment, embracing creativity and opportunities for growth while developing new technologies.
