Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Scientist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results. As a key member of the laboratory team, the MLS demonstrates exceptional critical thinking skills and independent judgment to interpret complex laboratory data and troubleshoot technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and interpret waived, moderate, and high complexity testing
  • Recognize procedural and technical problems, troubleshoot, and take corrective action
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and troubleshoot QC failures
  • Communicate effectively with caregivers and laboratory staff

Requirements:

  • Professional licensure (MLS, MT, CLS) from the North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice
  • Professional certification (MLS, MT, CLS) from a recognized certifying agency (ASCP, AAB, AMT, or NCA)
  • 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
