Chief of Emergency Medicine Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Emergency Medicine to lead our Emergency Medicine Department at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical services and medical education provided by our department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and achieving departmental goals.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Direct, oversee, and manage all aspects of clinical services and medical education provided by department members, ensuring the efficient achievement of departmental goals and effective delivery of medical care to patients and the community.
- Quality and Safety: Exercise responsibility for the quality and safety of direct patient care services, including ongoing performance improvement activities and compliance with performance indicators.
- Departmental Duties: Exercise responsibility for such other departmental duties, including making recommendations for medical staff privileges and appointments, and representing the department in a medical advisory capacity to the corporation and the Chief Medical Officer.
- Policies and Procedures: Design, implement, and manage policies, systems, and processes within the department to ensure efficient and effective achievement of established goals.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the service line administrator and nursing leader to develop and accomplish specific objectives designed to achieve the strategic goals of the healthcare facility.
- Education and Licensure: Current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, and board certification in the appropriate board specialty.
- Leadership and Management Experience: Demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities, including personnel, finance, quality, and clinical resource management.
- Clinical Experience: Maturity in clinical practice in the area of specialty is preferred.
