Job Overview

Atum, a leading bioengineering solutions provider, is seeking a highly skilled Life Sciences Patent Agent to drive the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications in the field of life sciences.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry, with expertise in DNA and protein-related technologies. They will be responsible for conducting prior art searches, patentability analysis, and engaging in practice development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Conduct prior art searches and analyze relevant technical documents.
  • Perform patentability analysis and IP due diligence.
  • Instruct local counsel for foreign filings and Office Actions.
  • Assist in patent clearance studies and other patent-related opinion projects.
Requirements and Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a biological field, including Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, or Biomedical Engineering. They will also possess 4-7 years of experience as a practicing patent agent in the field of life sciences and be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Compensation
