Role Overview:
The Project Engineering Specialist will oversee the execution phase of projects, ensuring that all construction activities align with established plans and specifications. This includes close collaboration with Vendors and Contractors throughout the commissioning and performance testing of new installations.

Design Responsibilities:
During the design phase, the Specialist will independently create and draft designs utilizing AutoCAD for 3D modeling and 2D layouts. This encompasses general arrangement drawings, equipment installation plans, process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), technical specifications, and piping routing & isometrics. Alternatively, the Specialist may coordinate a team of designers and drafters, leveraging their extensive knowledge in equipment installation and building design.

Project Coordination:
The Specialist will conduct and coordinate the overall project study in collaboration with the project manager and various departments. Key tasks include:

  • Preparing study bases through site surveys and existing plans.
  • Drafting and coordinating the layout of 2D/3D plans.
  • Overseeing the design studies for new buildings, including civil works and steel structures.
  • Managing piping studies, including 3D routing and isometric drawings.
  • Coordinating bid packages for construction and equipment, while monitoring progress with external service providers.
  • Verifying execution studies conducted by Vendors and Contractors.

Team Leadership:
The Specialist will supervise and distribute tasks among internal and external designers/drafters, ensuring efficient project execution.

Vendor Selection:
During the bidding process, the Specialist will collaborate with the Project Manager and purchasing department to select appropriate Vendors and Contractors.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline is required, along with 2-5 years of relevant experience in Project Engineering, particularly with projects exceeding $1M in budget.
