Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Handler/Forklift Driver to join our team at Buddig. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of goods and materials throughout our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a forklift to transport meat baskets to packaging lines, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Reweigh meat baskets and return them to the cooler as needed, maintaining a high level of quality and safety.
  • Conduct regular audits of rework vats to ensure compliance with USDA guidelines.
  • Wrap and secure rework vats after auditing, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Rotate baskets and maintain a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Ensure a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Perform routine forklift maintenance and report any issues to ensure maximum performance and plant safety.
  • Deliver supply boxes and empty pallets to packaging areas as needed.
  • Remove full pallets from packaging lines and scan and wrap completed pallets.
  • Place license plates on pallets and deliver them to the shipping area.
  • Remove excess inventory of boxes and pallets as needed.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Prior experience operating a stand-up forklift is preferred.
  • 2 or more years of related work experience is preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
  • Must be able to stand for 8-9 hours per day.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other duties.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have good hand and eye coordination.
  • Must be able to work in a high-speed packaging environment.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and mandatory overtime, including weekends.
