Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Assembler to join our team at Northrop Grumman's Cutting Edge Optronics division. As a Wafer Fabrication Technician, you will perform operations associated with the fabrication of semiconductor laser wafers in a team-oriented, mobile phone-free, fragrance-free cleanroom.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
- Work from diagrams and drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
- Make continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
- May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent fine motor skills
- Comfortable wearing full cleanroom attire and working under yellow lighting
- Good oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to follow written operational procedures
- Willingness and capability to learn new tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-year technical associate's degree
- Experience with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- The ability to handle small, fragile materials using a vacuum wand or tweezer
- Six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $31, $52,300.00. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
