Job Summary:

Compact Industries, Inc. is seeking a skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine facility maintenance, inspecting assigned buildings and spaces, and completing documents for work performed in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine facility maintenance, including patching, painting, and hardware repairs.
  • Inspect assigned buildings and spaces to identify areas for improvement.
  • Complete documents for work performed in a timely manner.
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets, cleaning and repairing circuit breaker panels.
  • Repair and caulk walls, floors, and ceilings as necessary.
  • Perform manual building repairs as needed.
  • Create and complete tasks in E-Maintenance.
  • Operate various types of lift equipment, including scissor lifts, forklifts, and electric pallet jacks.
  • Paint after structure repairs.
  • Monitor and maintain the proper operation of equipment.

Requirements:
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and shop tools.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use electrical meters.
  • TIG/MIG welding of stainless steel.
  • Metal fabrication is a plus.
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, and painting skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to receive and respond to work assignments in both formats.
  • Read, comprehend, and work from plans and operating instructions.
  • Follow oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, including multi-tasking.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge in mechanical equipment and the understanding of mechanical principals.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Man lift and forklift experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for the majority of the shift.

Education:
  • High School Diploma
  • Vocational school a plus.

Work Experience:
Food Industries experience is a plus.
