About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Professional to join our team in Oregon State Government Jobs. This is a permanent, full-time employment opportunity.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy to promote the work of the Oregon Department of Justice. The role involves managing all media relations, including responding to media inquiries, and ensuring quality control of all information released.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing a cohesive communications strategy
- Managing all media relations, including acting as the main DOJ media spokesperson
- Ensuring quality control of all information released
- Providing strategic advice to senior management on communications matters
- Cultivating an environment of readiness and responsiveness to public and media inquiries
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a relevant field
- A combination of foundational experience and education totaling at least seven years, including demonstrated knowledge of or experience in: Communications planning and coordination, Development and delivery of communications materials, Media relations (including but not limited to responding to media inquiries), Managing digital content, Strong oral and written communication skills, Solid writing skills, including impeccable copywriting and editing skills, and the ability to quickly turnaround written projects, Extensive list of media contacts

Estimated Salary Range: $7,599 - $11,752 per year.
