Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit organization providing services to individuals with disabilities across 12 states. We are seeking an experienced Residential Maintenance Professional to join our team in Mercer County, NJ.

Job Summary

The Residential Maintenance Professional will be responsible for maintaining residential homes, facilities, and vehicles. This includes repairing issues that arise, completing regular maintenance plans, and working with local management to contract external contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Maintenance Plans
    • Develop a schedule of basic maintenance tasks to ensure timely completion
    • Complete required maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Repair and Maintenance
    • Ensure repairs are made timely and safely, in compliance with local laws and regulations
    • Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and structural components, including appliances, fans, lights, flooring, carpets, paneling, doors, etc.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Advise management when an outside contractor may be necessary
    • Review contractor estimates to ensure they accurately reflect the required repairs and reasonable job costs
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Follow OSHA guidelines for safety and the proper handling of tools
    • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or GED with three years of maintenance experience
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
    • Ability to work safely with hands and power tools
    • Experience with problem-solving against multiple priorities
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent time management skills
