Cardiology Sonographer

Job Summary

The Cardiology Sonographer is responsible for performing a variety of complex technical cardiology tests, including echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and electrocardiography. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of cardiology and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and electrocardiography tests as ordered by physicians
• Prepare patients for tests by obtaining medical history and explaining procedures
• Maintain and calibrate equipment according to established criteria
• Provide training and support to Echo Techs and Cardiology Techs
• Attend continuing education programs to maintain credentials

Requirements

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification
• Two years of clinical experience preferred
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
• Strong knowledge of cardiology and ability to work independently
