We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge.
- Collaborate with patients and families to provide theory-based professional nursing care and coordinate care delivery with various members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Collect and analyze significant patient information to inform care decisions.
- Function autonomously to provide relationship-based care that promotes continuous, consistent, efficient, and accountable delivery of nursing care.
- Identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and plan appropriate interventions.
- Incorporate evidence-based practice and research into patient care delivery, with a focus on quality and safety.
- Serve as a patient advocate by communicating clinical concerns to other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Identify patient and family needs prior to discharge and initiate and monitor discharge planning activities.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program preferred.
- Associate's degree from an accredited School of nursing required.
- BSN enrollment required within 6 months of start date and completion within 3 years.
- 1 year of RN experience required.
- DC Registered Nurse License required.
- CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) required.
- Multiple per diem (PRN) options available with different requirements and rates of pay.
