The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of mechanical and electrical systems within the facility. This includes a wide range of tasks such as maintaining pumps, motors, lamp ballasts, and performing light carpentry, door repairs, and plumbing work. The role requires a skilled individual who can execute complex mechanical tasks and provide guidance to fellow maintenance staff.
The technician will also engage in preventative maintenance activities, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally. This includes responsibilities related to Life Safety PMs, medical gas systems, elevators, and emergency power systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to service requests and work orders promptly.
- Assess the complexity of tasks and identify necessary tools and materials.
- Prepare requisitions for parts and materials, ensuring timely procurement.
- Complete repairs efficiently and maintain accurate documentation.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure availability of critical spare parts.
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled and report any irregularities.
- Conduct inspections of safety systems and ensure compliance with relevant codes.
- Take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the team leader.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior maintenance staff.
- Participate in weekend and on-call shifts as required.
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Certification in HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical fields is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in mechanical maintenance and repair is essential.
Skills: The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in various systems including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Proficiency in using power tools and diagnostic equipment is necessary. Candidates should be able to interpret blueprints and have a solid understanding of applicable safety codes.
