Job Overview
BWXT Advanced Technologies is a leading provider of nuclear solutions for global security, clean energy, environmental restoration, nuclear medicine, and space exploration. As a Materials Science/Engineering intern, you will work with our experienced team to develop innovative materials solutions.

Compensation
The starting hourly rate for this position is between $25 and $35 per hour, commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, retirement, and other perks, is also offered.

Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, your responsibilities will include:
  1. Collaborating with materials engineers to support procurement, fabrication, joining, and testing of raw material commodities.
  2. Conducting material characterization evaluations to identify optimal materials for various applications.
  3. Analyzing failure modes of metallic and ceramic materials to improve product performance.
  4. Developing material performance specifications to ensure consistency and quality.
  5. Working with design and manufacturing engineers to resolve materials-related issues during the manufacturing process.
