Job Overview

As a Solar Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, calibrating, and commissioning client solar equipment at customer sites. You will also perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and provide effective solutions to resolve issues promptly.
  • Conduct equipment upgrades and modifications as needed to enhance performance and meet customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on the operation and maintenance of solar equipment.
  • Document service activities, including daily reports, ESRs, commissioning reports, BOLs, packing lists, and customer communications.
  • Facilitate resolution of technical and engineering queries that arise from the field, including drafting/completing documents such as requests for information, technical enquiry forms, and transmittals.
  • Collaborate with client engineering, R&D, and technical support teams to resolve equipment issues by utilizing specified documents including but not limited to firmware upgrade packages, commission instructions, SOPs appropriate for the job.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing customer needs and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Work cross-functionally to support company culture, values, such as leading onsite and offsite training regarding products and services.
  • Follow ISO procedures and guidelines, as well as follow proper safety protocol, including wearing appropriate PPE where designated.
  • Ad hoc duties as assigned by management team.

Requirements:

  • Mandarin Chinese required.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license and clean driving records.
  • College degree in electromechanical, mechanical, and engineering required. Must have some technical qualifications, education, and/or work experience in electrical, electronics, and mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • 1+ years experience installing, commissioning, and maintaining complex electromechanical equipment at customer sites, preferably with experience in the solar industry.
  • Familiar with TCP/IP setup.
  • This is a remote position with up to 70% travel to customer sites nationwide with sometimes last-minute travel. Some evenings and weekends necessary to accommodate production and scheduled service demands.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and on a team with internal and external customers to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to perform intermediate math to perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Experience installing, commissioning, and maintaining complex electromechanical equipment at customer sites, preferably with experience in the solar industry.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to perform detailed machine installations, repairs, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting. Must be able to communicate with internal and external customers through multiple means of communication including phone, email, social media APP, etc.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and software as well as Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Familiar with OSHA compliance.
