Job Summary:

The Mechanical Maintenance Manager will oversee the operation and maintenance of campus mechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills to manage a team of maintenance employees and develop infrastructure improvement programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain campus mechanical systems, including repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Supervise and direct maintenance employees, ensuring they meet performance expectations and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement mechanical infrastructure improvement programs to enhance campus facilities.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Director to ensure compliance with electrical and building codes.
  • Manage maintenance staff schedules and responsibilities, ensuring adequate coverage and resource allocation.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws and codes concerning health, safety, and the environment.
  • Perform purchasing and reporting duties, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Participate in the development of short-term and long-term departmental goals and objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing are highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of central heating, cooling, and combined heat and power (CHP) plants and HVAC systems.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with progressive levels of responsibility.
  • Experience in educational institutions is highly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license required.
