Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. As a Floor Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our hospital facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and waxing of all types of floor finishes.
  • Remove and store garbage and recyclables from the hospital building to designated collection sites.
  • Assist in cleanup of spills and messes of all types.
  • Remove and replace dirty linen hampers and empty hospital trash collection bins.
  • Assist with furniture moving, high cleaning, and exchanging floor mats.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with standard procedures established for the department, which support the hospital's objectives.
  • Ensure assigned areas are cleaned to meet established standards using departmental policies, procedures, and methods.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least six months of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of Universal Precautions as established by the CDC and the hospital's Infection Control Department.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.
  • Ability to follow direction and perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.
  • Emotional maturity and ability to function effectively under stress.
