Purpose of Position

The Aviation Systems Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining and repairing flight training devices (FTDs) in accordance with regulatory authority requirements and company standards. This role may also involve making mechanical modifications, updates, and repairs to enhance the performance of the FTDs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform standard simulator support activities, including configuration changes and troubleshooting.
  • Identify, repair, or replace electrical and subsystem components, as well as hydraulic system components, with minimal assistance.
  • Monitor simulator performance and condition to ensure compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of governing regulations for the proper operation of all FTDs, the facility, and the safe employment of personnel.
  • Able to accomplish basic tasks associated with the Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Learning Center daily department operations and applicable procedures.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in electronics from a college or completion of a civilian/military electronics technical school preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience in civilian/military electronics or related technical experience.

Work Environment

The Aviation Systems Maintenance Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels. The employee may be required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to view monitors, technical documents, and reference material.
