About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to join our team at HunaX, a leading public interest law firm. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping our financial strategy and driving our mission forward.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective financial management and grantmaking strategies, leading a team of finance professionals, and collaborating with other members of the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial management and grantmaking strategies that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Lead a team of finance professionals and collaborate with other members of the leadership team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Sustain a culture of excellence and integrity within the Finance department, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, leveraging expertise to navigate complex financial landscapes.
  • Partner with leaders to identify and prioritize initiatives that meet financial obligations and advance programmatic objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of VP-level leadership experience in a nonprofit setting, preferably in legal aid.
  • Nonprofit accounting CPA or audit background.
  • Experience working closely with lawyers and familiarity with union collective bargaining agreements.
