We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Control Room Operator to join our team at the City of Augusta GA. As a Control Room Operator, you will play a critical role in maintaining order and security within our facilities, ensuring the safety and well-being of inmates, employees, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and monitor video surveillance systems, security intercoms, and in-house telephone systems to ensure a secure environment.
- Control access to the facility, including entry and exit gates, and ensure that only authorized personnel and vehicles have access.
- Operate control panels to manage cell blocks, emergency exits, and visitation areas, and activate security staff as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as fires, medical emergencies, and security breaches, and notify the appropriate authorities.
- Maintain a daily activity log to record movement and activity within the facility.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the Central Control area.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in law enforcement, public safety, or a related field preferred.
- Considerable knowledge of law enforcement and corrections processes, as well as applicable state and federal laws, county policies, and departmental directives.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including GCIC/NCIC and JMS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
