We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Planned Parenthood South Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a positive and healthy environment for our staff and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of our facilities, including offices, exam rooms, restrooms, break rooms, and conference rooms.
- Perform general maintenance tasks, such as grounds keeping, minor plumbing, basic carpentry, and painting, as needed.
- Assist with stripping, waxing, and buffing of tile floors, and shampooing carpeted floors on a quarterly basis.
- Change light bulbs in a prompt and timely manner, as needed.
- Visually inspect buildings' interior and exterior and notify the Facilities Manager of any major repairs that are needed.
- Assist the Facilities Manager with various tasks as requested.
- Lift, carry, and move heavy or bulky items, such as supplies or property, as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of three years job experience in cleaning required.
- Minimum of three years job experience in basic maintenance work, including grounds keeping, minor plumbing, basic carpentry, and painting preferred.
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions with accuracy.
- Organized and neat in the execution of all work tasks.
- Access to reliable transportation with ability to travel to other designated worksites as requested.
- Cooperation and willingness to assist others with manual labor.
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry, push, and pull 1-20 lbs. frequently.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull 21-60 lbs. on occasion.
- Ability to push and pull lbs. using a dolly on occasion.
- Ability to ensure that health information on premises is not accessed or viewed during performance of work duties.
- Establishes and maintains positive, professional work relationships with all co-workers.
- Sensitive and competent regarding issues of multiculturalism.
- Comfortable with issues of sexual and reproductive health.
- Able and willing to work for an organization that supports a patient's right to make personal decisions regarding health care, including their right to choose what option is best for them if faced with an unintended pregnancy.
- Demonstrates a strong, personal commitment to the organization's position on customer service, internally and externally, for all clients, all services, and all departments.
- Competitive hourly rate of $15.
