Cloud Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Systems Administrator to join our team at Onyx Point, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, cloud computing, and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain IT systems, including cloud infrastructure and network devices.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes.
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, including installing and loading operating system software.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot large-scale cloud computing systems, including distributed systems for storage and retrieval of data.
Requirements:
  • At least three years of experience in system administration and monitoring large distributed systems.
  • Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting large-scale cloud computing systems, including familiarity with distributed systems for storage and retrieval of data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a pre-defined mission-focused team structure, follow SOPs, communicate effectively, and receive technical guidance and advice from senior-level technical resources.
  • Five years of experience writing software scripts using scripting languages, including bash, perl, or python.
  • Seven years of experience demonstrating a fundamental understanding and working knowledge of core components of the Linux operating system, including user and group account management in LDAP, DHCP, DNS, and TFTP configuration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of SSH tunneling and protocols, including dynamic SOCKS proxies and other SSH-based utilities.
  • Basic understanding of low-level network concepts, including VLANs, port channel bonding, and layer 2/3 switch interactions.
  • Familiarity with software load balancers for large-scale web service implementations, including HAProxy and NGINX.
  • Experience with Kubernetes orchestration services and Docker images.
  • Experience with log aggregation and search tools, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Filebeat, Grafana, and Rsyslog.

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics is highly desired and will be considered equivalent to two years of experience. Hadoop/Cloud System Administrator Certification or comparable Cloud System/Service Certification is required.
