About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician Specialist at Destin West HOA, you will play a vital role in maintaining the common areas of our condominium community. We are looking for a skilled professional to join our team and help us deliver exceptional service to our residents.

Job Summary

This is a maintenance position responsible for performing routine repairs and upkeep of walkways, paths, community pools, bath houses, and other common areas. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work from instructions and complete daily work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with maintenance of mechanical system operations, including routine checks and repairs.
  • Perform minor and routine maintenance replacement and repairs in areas of carpentry, including painting and touching up as required.
  • Conduct casual labor tasks such as lifting/moving heavy items as directed by supervisors and following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Inspect all assigned areas daily and report any maintenance discrepancies or deficiencies to the supervisor.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition.
  • Perform a variety of janitorial duties including cleaning restrooms, assigned areas, and emptying and removing trash.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct business always with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and meet schedules.
  • Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  • Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks, and other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

We are seeking a candidate with a high school diploma or equivalency preferred and general experience in building trades, repair, and maintenance work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • The ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to its use.
  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
Tools and Equipment Used

You will be using hand tools, mops, cleaning solutions, water and foam hoses, scrub pads, brushes, brooms, and personal protective equipment as required.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

This position works under indoor and outdoor conditions and exposed to elements including chemicals, odor, weather, and environmental conditions. The associate must be able to work in an upright standing position for long periods of time, sit, walk, crawl, climb, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 50 lbs. The incumbent must be able to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions and detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
