We are seeking a skilled Ambulatory Care Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As an Ambulatory Care Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct nursing care to patients in an ambulatory care setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning.
- Administer medications, including IV medications, via the Seven Rights, and document and communicate clinical findings.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
- Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
- Essential: Program Graduate, Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
- Nonessential: Bachelor's Degree, Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo, Bilingual English/Spanish
- Essential: CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days, RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification w/in 6 months, Basic Arrhythmia Cert w/in 1 year
- Nonessential: Nationally Certified in area of specialty, PALS, TNCC and/or ENPC
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
