Experienced Electrical Technician

Torgeson Electric Company is actively looking for a qualified Journeyman Service Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with the Service Department Manager and the Service Department Administrator to efficiently execute assigned work orders and projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of the National Electric Code and demonstrate the ability to install and troubleshoot electrical components with minimal oversight and within established timelines.
- Travel may be required within the northeast Kansas region.
- Compensation is based on experience.
- Standard work hours are approximately 40 hours per week.
- A service van will be provided for transportation.
- Lodging will be arranged if necessary.
Applicants should have:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience and a valid Journeyman electrical license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
- Essential hand tools; larger equipment will be supplied by the company.
All candidates must adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times, including:
- Possessing a valid driver's license.
- OSHA 10 certification is required (OSHA 30 preferred, with reimbursement available upon completion).
As a Service Electrician, you will:
- Complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Consistently arrive on time and prepared for work.
- Install various components of electrical systems.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics of electrical systems.
- Work at heights using a bucket truck.
- Maintain organization of paperwork, tools, and materials.
- Interpret technical plans and documents.
- Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays.
- Work in secured areas, undergoing extensive background checks.
- Foster positive customer relations and maintain good communication skills.
- Complete daily pre-job safety plans for the tasks at hand.
