YAI is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Music Therapy Fieldwork Student to join our team. As a Music Therapy Fieldwork Student, you will have the opportunity to work with school-age children with special needs, providing music therapy sessions and activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement music therapy sessions and activities for school-age children with special needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including AT, Speech, OT, PT, and administration, to enhance the music therapy program.
- Track data and monitor goals for group music therapy sessions.
- Provide direction to paraprofessionals, teachers, and related service providers in group music therapy sessions.
- Complete required hours based on the discretion of the Academic Fieldwork Supervisor and On-Site Fieldwork Supervisor.
- Current student status in a music therapy program.
- Ability to work with children with special needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
This is an unpaid internship opportunity that may be able to satisfy course credit if approved by the student's institution of learning.
