Key Responsibilities
- Assess new and emerging technologies by analyzing energy savings, carbon emissions, lifecycle costs, and non-economic advantages, particularly in commercial settings, distributed generation, and microgrid applications.
- Oversee analytical, experimental, and field demonstration projects, managing budgets, timelines, and deliverables while coordinating with project stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, and external contractors.
- Lead project teams in creating field test plans, designing, and implementing instrumentation and data acquisition systems to measure performance.
- Utilize software tools for data analysis, summarizing outcomes, and reporting findings effectively.
- Draft technical documents, test reports, and research publications to meet project reporting requirements and convey technical information to clients, partners, and subcontractors.
- Generate new project concepts and proposals.
- Travel as necessary to engage in field site visits, pilot projects, and industry events.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics and energy generation principles.
- Previous experience in laboratory research within industry or academia.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with safety protocols in laboratory and field environments.
- Self-motivated individuals who can work independently and collaboratively.
- Active involvement in professional societies and standards is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with at least 8 years of experience.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Licensed Professional Engineer, CEM, PMP) are preferred.
- Experience in supervisory roles, particularly in research or engineering contexts, is a plus.
- Proven ability to identify new technical or business opportunities is beneficial.
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, control systems, and programming is a plus.
