The specialist will be responsible for sorting, organizing, performing preventive maintenance, and managing equipment upkeep, while also ensuring compliance with safety protocols and promptly reporting any discrepancies to management. This position involves maintaining accurate records of materials (such as cargo, pallets, and bins) and overseeing deliveries. Additionally, effective communication and collaboration with team members are essential to meet departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely maneuvering material handling equipment in busy industrial settings
  • Efficiently stacking and unstacking large volumes of goods onto shelves or pallets
  • Transporting goods from storage to loading areas for shipment
  • Unloading incoming deliveries and accurately relocating goods to their designated storage locations
  • Maintaining clear and safe driving areas free from spills or obstacles
  • Regularly inspecting equipment for faults or damages
  • Utilizing industrial packaging materials to securely stack and prepare goods for transport
  • Staying informed on health and safety standards and operational procedures
  • Consolidating partial pallets for incoming shipments

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing environment
  • Preferred experience with sit-down and stand-up forklifts in various settings such as warehouses or construction sites
  • Experience in handling materials of varying sizes and weights, ensuring safe transfer to designated areas
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, safety protocols, and operational best practices

Employment Conditions

  • Successful completion of background checks and drug testing is required
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours as needed
  • Participation in and successful completion of the company’s forklift safety training program is mandatory

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate and maintain forklifts, which includes physical activities such as crouching, kneeling, standing, and walking
