Job Description:

Systemtec is seeking a highly skilled UPS Systems Engineer to lead and manage a critical replacement/upgrade of several thousand UPS devices nationwide. This is a senior-level role with dual responsibilities, requiring strong technical expertise and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, management, and support of Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) devices for the client.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop and document standard NMC configuration to be deployed to ~750 units nationwide, review available firmware versions, and recommend target versions for deployment.
  • Process Development: Develop and document automated processes for remotely deploying standard configuration and configuration updates, as well as processes/procedures for periodic NMC/UPS firmware updates to maintain optimal performance and/or remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaboration: Work directly with Schneider/APC TAC to troubleshoot, identify common issues, and remediate, and collaborate with System Managers in remote locations to install, configure, and troubleshoot new units.
  • Problem-Solving: Propose solutions to improve or streamline the installation and/or management of the UPS units, and participate in initial implementation of general data center requirements, addition of new hardware, and retirement of equipment.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Five years of experience in firmware and UPS devices, with a strong proven track record of writing scripts from scratch.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science or electrical engineering.
  • Skills: Experience in scripting languages such as Ansible or Python, knowledge of infrastructure design in datacenter and campus environments, and experience with Local Area Network and data center networks.
