Position Summary
The Senior Universal Banker is responsible for delivering exceptional client service while providing digital engagement and financial guidance through the promotion of South Shore Bank's products and services to both new and existing clients. This role encompasses comprehensive training on both teller and platform operations within the banking center and requires flexibility to work across different branches based on the bank's needs. The individual will play a vital role in driving business growth and will be accountable for achieving specific individual and team-oriented business objectives. This position requires in-person engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel frequently to various branches to support staff as needed.
- Enhance the client experience through effective sales, service, and digital engagement for both Consumer and Commercial clients.
- Educate and engage clients in diverse ways to utilize our services, providing tailored solutions to meet their needs while promoting digital capabilities.
- Manage lobby interactions by welcoming clients and proactively addressing their banking requirements.
- Initiate outreach to customers to foster retention and growth of Consumer and Business Banking relationships.
In addition to the outlined responsibilities, you will participate in various internal and external training sessions aimed at enhancing service quality for our clients.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

- A minimum of 3 years of banking experience is preferred.
- High School Diploma or Associate's Degree is preferred.
Certifications/Licenses
Maintain satisfactory NMLS registration in accordance with the SAFE Act regulations.
Education and Experience
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with electronic delivery channels such as Internet Banking, Mobile Banking/Mobile Deposit, eStatements, and Bill Pay is preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively in front of groups of clients or employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
