Job Summary:

Volunteers of America-Greater New York is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Bronx Early Learning Center, a vibrant and nurturing special education preschool. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide occupational therapy treatment to children in the pre-school setting, perform occupational therapy assessments, and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and students.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement occupational therapy intervention plans directly or in collaboration with others.
  • Screen and evaluate children to obtain and interpret data necessary for planning intervention and for treatment planning.
  • Document services as required by Volunteers of America as well as third-party payers.
  • Follow the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice as well as Volunteers of America policies and procedures.
  • Maintain treatment areas and equipment as required.
  • Supervise occupational therapy practitioners, occupational therapy students, and other staff performing supportive services as a part of service provision.
  • Participate in professional development activities as mandated by Volunteers of America and by the requirements for the continuation of occupational therapy licensure.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in occupational therapy.
  • New York State License.
  • NBCOT certification.
  • Experience and/or training in pediatrics.
