About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team at MITRE. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, securing, and architecting cloud platforms, leading cloud projects, and advising government sponsors on cloud adoption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of scalable and resilient cloud environments
  • Collaborate with our Information Security team to define and meet multi-cloud security baselines
  • Act as the primary point of contact between MITRE and government sponsors
  • Recognize opportunities to minimize duplication of effort and offer expertise to other MITRE projects
  • Write code to automate the provisioning of cloud resources in a multi-cloud environment
Requirements
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in a programming language like JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, Go, etc.
  • At least 2 years of cloud leadership experience including planning, organizing, staffing, and executing development projects
  • Related secondary skills and experience in domains like data, AI, cybersecurity, Agile, DevSecOps, or other related areas in the cloud
  • Ability to obtain a US Government issued security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pre-existing Secret or Top-Secret clearance
  • Experience securing systems to compliance standards
  • Experience using cloud automation tools
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD automated build and deploy processes
  • Cloud certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect
