Overview:
The IT Support Specialist is accountable for the configuration, installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of computer systems, software applications, telecommunication devices, network infrastructure, and operational information systems.
Collaborates closely with the IT management team to ensure adherence to organizational desktop standards and IT protocols. II.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Provide technological support to production facilities in alignment with established standards and best practices.
- Install, set up, and resolve issues related to hardware and software (including desktop and laptop computers, printers, switches, hubs, routers, wireless access points, scanners, and other necessary hardware and software).
- Assist with the management of the telecommunication system.
- Conduct server backups.
- Implement necessary updates and enhancements to servers, computers, and software as they become available.
- Document standardized procedures for use across the facility.
- Create documentation for system procedures and applications to serve as an IT reference guide.
- Act as the first point of contact for IT help desk support for end users.
- Provide assistance for desktop and laptop issues related to hardware, software (e.g., Microsoft Office), active directory, email, printing, networking, etc.
- Ensure that virus protection and anti-spyware programs are regularly updated.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve any IT-related challenges.
- Support and deploy production systems as directed by management and organizational policy.
- Troubleshoot IT-related challenges to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. III.
Qualifications:
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Over 4 years of experience providing IT support in a manufacturing setting is required (preferably in the automotive sector).
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and shop floor operations.
- Experience in a Japanese-style work environment is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding and practical knowledge of help desk and production system applications.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Strong presentation abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
- Self-motivated with a robust work ethic.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Proficient in communicating and collaborating with all organizational levels.
- Ability to escalate IT issues to management and plant personnel.

- Availability to assist with IT and systems needs outside of regular hours when necessary to maintain efficient operations.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely in verbal and written English.
- Proficiency in Japanese and/or Spanish is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, and other computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).
- Experience with Help Desk software systems.
- Strong understanding of MS Active Directory, MS Windows Server, telecommunication servers, network cabling, and SQL databases is preferred. IV.

Travel: Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time is required.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the team member is required to communicate, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods. Occasionally, lifting up to 30 pounds may be required. The ability to sit and work on a computer for prolonged periods is necessary. Travel by automobile and airplane is also required.
