Job Summary: The County of Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled Audiologist II to provide comprehensive audiological services to assist individuals with a wide range of audiology system disorders. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing rehabilitation services to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive aural case management, including diagnostic evaluations and treatment planning.
- Provide consultative services to other audiology personnel, allied health disciplines, and community agencies.
- Document and maintain patient records according to established standards.
- Conduct in-service training for medical facility and professional staff on communication disorders, corrective techniques, and research findings.
- Supervise the performance of students and support personnel performing delegated and assigned treatment procedures and tasks.
- Organize, plan, and direct research or special projects in communication disorders and hearing loss prevention.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Audiology or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of post-master's audiology experience in a clinic or educational institution.
- Current licensure by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board to practice audiology.
- Valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Audiology experience in a clinic or educational institution as a licensed Audiologist beyond the Minimum Requirements.
Working Conditions:
- Light physical effort, including occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit, and some bending, stooping, or squatting.
- Considerable walking may be involved.
