Key Responsibilities

  • Providing thorough and practical assessments and advice to clients in and out of court.
  • Preparing, drafting, and reviewing documents, including new referrals, complaints, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
  • Documenting account/file activity in accordance with firm and client policies and procedures.
  • Traveling to various courts in the state and handling all aspects of a case's litigation life cycle.
  • Researching and interpreting case laws, rulings, and regulations, and formulating legal opinions for review by supervising attorneys.
  • Communicating with clients in a responsive manner to maintain and further develop client relationships.
  • Negotiating settlements.
  • Attending continuing education classes, webinars, and seminars to remain current and well-informed of any local, state, or federal changes in the law, rules of court, or court procedures.

Requirements

  • Qualified attorney with no discipline history and an active license in the state for which they will work.
  • Membership in the California Bar.
  • Minimum 2-year civil law firm experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of state laws and regulations relevant to motor vehicle repossessions, collections, and repair shop and storage facilities preferred but will train.
  • Ability to collaborate with other employees to utilize resources and knowledge of others in identifying high-quality solutions.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to effectively manage priorities to meet business requirements and deadlines.
  • Possesses leadership skills and the ability to drive and motivate other employees to achieve results.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills across a broad spectrum of attorney and non-attorney recipients, including all levels within the organization and external.

Travel – This position requires travel to courts if needed.

Compensation and Benefits
