Role Summary
The Nursing Care Supervisor is responsible for employing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver personalized care in a long-term care environment, under the guidance of a registered nurse or physician. This role involves collaboration with inter-professional colleagues to design, execute, and assess care plans. The supervisor is tasked with documenting patient/resident histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Utilizing technology to improve patient/resident care quality.
- Collaborating with team members and effectively supervising unlicensed personnel.
- Assuming overall nursing accountability for assigned patients/residents.
- Participating in leadership roles on departmental and organizational committees.
- Ensuring the safeguarding of residents' property and maintaining their dignity and confidentiality.
- Promoting residents' independence and choices aligned with their care plans.
The Nursing Care Supervisor will also ensure safe, orderly living conditions for residents and demonstrate proficiency in nursing practices across various age groups and populations.
Qualifications
Applicants must be graduates of an accredited practical nursing program and hold a current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. Additional experience in long-term care and specific competencies may be required based on departmental needs.
