Responsibilities:

  • Clean and disinfect all areas, including patient rooms, utility rooms, ancillary areas, public areas, restrooms, and offices
  • Remove trash and refuse, and properly dispose of infectious and non-infectious waste
  • Perform daily floor care maintenance, including dusting, wet mopping, buffing, striping, and refinishing hard floors, vacuuming, shampooing, and extracting carpet
  • Wash walls, and perform high and low dusting, furniture, blind, and window cleaning

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, take verbal instruction, and perform basic arithmetic
  • Previous experience is helpful, but not required
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, carry up to 40 pounds, and push/pull up to 60 pounds
  • Must have normal hospital environment exposure, normal/corrected eyesight, and hearing within normal range

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent exposure to dust and fumes
  • Exposure to chemical, electrical, and mechanical hazards, blood, and body fluids
